Media award

The purpose of the award is to encourage participants to document and share life onboard, the sailing experience, and the moments that bring the race to life for audiences following along.

How to participate

Send an email to media@ksss.se with your boat name, your name and a phone number you can be reached on and you will be added to a closed WhatsApp-chat.

The chat is used to collect all participants media, so send in your stories, pictures and videos there. You can also link social media posts.

Judging Criteria

A jury will select the winner based on an overall assessment of the submitted content throughout the race.

The following criteria will carry the most weight:

1. Quality over quantity

The number of submissions does not determine the winner. Well-produced, thoughtful, and high-quality content is valued more than frequent posting or large volumes of material.

2. Storytelling and authenticity

Content should provide a genuine insight into life onboard and capture the crew’s experience during the days at sea. From intense racing moments to everyday life and the human side of the journey.

3. Value for race coverage

Submitted material should be relevant and useful for the organizer’s race reporting, media coverage, and external communications.

4. Well-produced content is prioritized

Edited videos, thoughtfully composed photos, and well-developed written updates will be valued more highly than quick, isolated clips or large amounts of unprocessed material.

Important to keep in mind

• Quick, standalone video clips without context will carry limited weight in the judging.

• Sending more material does not automatically improve your chances.

• The focus is on high-quality content that helps tell the story of Gotland Runt.

Prize

The winner will receive a SEK 5,000 prize from Helly Hansen.
